China and Iran emphasize Afghanistan to end restrictions on women

Beijing (zeropoint9) China and Iran have urged Afghanistan to lift restrictions on women’s work and education.
The announcement came at a joint conference at the end of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s visit to Beijing on Thursday, during which the two sides reiterated closer economic and political ties and their rejection of Western standards of human rights and democracy. Since taking over Afghanistan in August 2021, the Taliban have banned women and girls from attending universities and schools after the sixth grade and have forcibly removed women from elected offices and other key positions.
